Artist’s Commentary on Responsibility

Inspired by the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party (MFDP), Responsibility is a self-portrait (15’ x 10’) of self-determination in response to a racist society. It is an expression of my admiration and ebullience in response to and support of the struggle for pluralistic integration. Created as the crowning of a Graffiti Box on the property of my mother and stepfather, Responsibility has been proudly accepted by them as a work of art to protect and share.
