Grateful for the work

everything is,

what you hold

is giving.

Your life

an opening

undone

because you are here.

-7/11/20

Listen for your star.
That you are afraid of yourself
is funny.
That I am not afraid of you
is funnier.

-7/7/20

What do we make here?

What do we destroy?

Let me say, the world is full

of trust.

-6/24/20

Grieving, we want a song.
I could sing to you,
hearing sadness,
you could sing to me.
We could sing to each other
cleaning this place up.

-6/22/20

When meeting opens us to how we are ordinary
how loving black culture is ordinary
sitting in reflection is ordinary
planning a regular family dinner is ordinary-
what if what is in our way
is ordinary?

-6/21/20

And home is when

I am sweeping

and you feel inspired to sing.

-6/20/20

Open, I wish I could open.

all my hair

my feel

for courage.

- 6/19/20

Like a farm I wander.

You and I

a way down

into the river

down to what we need.
